Kitchen Aid Blender: A Review

By

The Kitchen Aid Blender is one cool kitchen tool. Yeah, yeah, I want to call it a tool. Sue me! I’m no Betty Crocker in the kitchen but with the right equipment, I can be.

Guys, you know what I’m talking about. You follow me? Whether you’re drilling or sawing something, you like having the right tools that gets the job done right.

I bought my blender a couple of years ago and I’m still happy with the purchase. It comes in 12 hot colours like Blue Willow, Empire red, Cinnamon Gloss, Tangerine and Buttercup etc. Mine is Cinnamon Gloss which puts a splash of colour in my kitchen and on my counter top.

It has a 56 oz. pitcher which holds 7 cups. That's for some of us that are clueless about ounces. Five (5) speeds gets you from zero to 60 in under 5 secs, just kidding. It was too tempting not to. Five speeds gets you from stir to liquefy in a matter of seconds.

My favourite speed selection though is the crush ice mode. One moment ice cubes and the next out comes snow. All right, shaved ice then, which is the correct terminology if you prefer. I love that because I can eat my water instead of drinking it, lol. You can make yourself a snow cone (what we call it in Jamaica). It’s simply shaved ice with syrup over it is.

Now, I didn’t know that it was ok, to use it for pancake batter. All this time, I thought that I was being a bad girl by putting flour and the rest of the ingredients in there. So here I was whipping up apple/blueberry pancake batter in it because it was so easy. Go figure!! Yours truly only reads the book when there’s a problem.

According to the instructions booklet you can make pizza, cornbread, just kidding again. You can do milkshakes, margaritas, smoothies and all types of soups and sauces and your baby food, if you have a baby.

I only wish that I’d had one when my son broke his jaw and had his mouth wired shut for two weeks. The only thing that he could get in there was a straw and through that he had his nourishment for two long weeks. Boy, did he lose lots of weight by then. Lucky enough I had another blender which shall remain nameless. I had to chop and puree everything but it didn’t do as good a job as this one. Pureeing meat is just yucky and in a blender that doesn’t do a good job, you taste those little bits in your mouth. He was a trooper though, right through the whole thing.

I don’t know if you’ll see me doing any more reviews because I have to really like the product. So, I do like it and you will too when you purchase your own.

Know that Kitchen Aid has 13 models to choose from, so, there’s sure to be one just for you.

Yo Chris! That sounds like a great blender! I live on smoothies with protein powder, spirulina, lecithin, frozen blue-berries, and acai or goji berries (or the juice). Sometimes I mix frozen mangoes, peaches, etc. Oh- I would always like a banana in there for the potassium but also the flavor. I have an older blender and it doesn't do ice very well- cubes not at all. So the frozen fruit is my ice! I had water sometimes. I don't drink enough. My blender does the frozen fruit very well. But- I can see the advantages of having one of these. Excuse me- I have to go back to your underwear hub now.

@Micky Dee, hahaha, just for you I'll put some underwear in here so that you won't have to keep switching between them. I know, I'll do an underwear review too. You'll like that. Right?

@entertianmentplus, good to hear and thanks.

I didn't mention that the reason I get frozen fruit is because the fresh fruit does not last long at all. It seems the strawberries are the worst for spoiling.

And yes! Actually you must know by now I'm a big talker. Now excuse me- I'm going to walk around the corner here...

@Micky Dee, I wash, cut up the fresh fruits and put them in a freezer bag and freeze them. When I'm ready, take out what I want and make my frozen treat. You can probably store fruits for a couple of months. I've had some in there longer. Still taste good, I think lol. Mmmm, love strawberries too.
